With so many milestones packed into baby’s first year, it’s no wonder why that very first birthday is so special and parents want to do something wonderful to celebrate it. There are so many reasons – first smiles, first time rolling over, first solid food, mastering sitting up, laughing and possibly even those first wobbly steps. For parents, it’s a big sigh of relief that they survived the first year, which many parents will argue is the hardest!
I met this family a whole year back for their newborn photos. They also came back and visited me for a sitter session so it was only natural that we made a big deal about baby T’s first birthday. I’m glad they agreed to involve themselves and do an outdoor family session. I love documenting baby’s entire first year. It always shocks me how much baby grows and changes within those first 12 months. Fun fact, we did these photos on baby T’s actual birthday. I’m thrilled they allowed me to be a small part of her special day.
Their love for this sweet girl was so abundant and obvious. It shines through the photos. Their daughter will one day look at these photos when she’s older and it will be very clear that she was utterly smothered in love and kisses.
