Spring Outdoor Sessions

It's time to book May + June outdoor sessions. In early spring, a lot of the locations are very sparse in terms of flowers or foliage on trees so I have organized calendars based on locations that I know will still photograph well this time of year. If you don't find a time slot on one calendar for when you want, try another location (scroll down this page) or reach out to me to discuss your preferred date or location and we'll have a conversation about what will work.

Springtime at Dundurn Castle

When lilac season ends, this is still one of my favourite locations, year round and one I recommend often. It’s easy to get to, has a big, free parking lot and gives families a ton of variety of backgrounds. There are tree-lined pathways, white walls with cream pillars, green shutters and doors, rustic stables, stonework and greenery and obviously the castle makes a stunning backdrop. This location works amazing for both morning and evening sessions.

PRINCESS POINT

A lovely walking path by the lake in Hamilton that works for both morning and evening sessions. There are giant trees, open fields with tall grasses and beautiful light at sunset and sunrise. The view of the lake is really pretty and there is a good-sized paid parking lot (I think it's about $3-4 per car for around 1-2 hours of time or free with an RBG membership parking pass). This location works for both early morning and late evening sessions.

BURLOAK WATERFRONT PARK

On the border of Burlington and Oakville at the lake is this beautiful park. It's got nice walking paths and a few of these cement walkways that jut out into the lake. It's best for older kids (4+) because it's very rocky and little kids won't be able to navigate the large rocks as safely. The beach areas are rocks (not sand) and the area has some cute telescopes and gazebos that are interesting in photos and the centre of the park has a small flower garden.
