This sweet family was gifted this newborn session from a family member. How thoughtful is that! Actually, it was the second time they have been gifted a newborn session with me. We did photos for their older child a few years back. When I captured their son he was about 2 months old and they loved how alert and expressive he was, so we decided to do their baby girl’s photos around the same age. So many of my families are choosing to book photos when baby is a bit older. For years, I’ve been preaching that older newborn sessions are amazing and beautiful and I’m glad people are able to see that and are not shy to book newborn photos past those “first two weeks”.
We had a great time with baby girl K. She was awake for most of the session, but did drift off to sleep for a short time – you can see some of the sleepy photos below in her mom’s arms. How cute! In-home sessions involve lots of snuggles and are quite casual. I make sure to get photos of baby on their own and also with all family members. I just love them.
