One of my favourite thing about being a newborn and family photographer for so many years is getting to be a witness to a child’s growth and development. I met this little girl, (or should I say big girl now!) way back when she was a newborn. I’ve had the pleasure of documenting her along the way and each time it really feels like hanging out with friends. She has grown into such a vibrant and fun young lady and I love listening to all the stories she tells me. It’s great when kids are comfy enough to open up to you, it makes getting those candid and organic photos so much easier.
We headed out one evening for family photos and did a session that started at this beautiful flower garden – it’s one of my favourite summer locations! and then we ended up just across the street at the beach. It was perfect. The family ended up with a huge collection of very diverse images, from posed family photos of everyone smiling at the camera, to solo images of their darling daughter, to fun, playful images at the beach, and we even snuck in some images of mom and dad together, because let’s face it, that never happens, right? I am so blessed to meet lovely families and adorable babies and kids, and call it a job. Pinch me. 😉
